International Arrivals

A monthly summary of non-resident air arrivals at any California ports of entry (POE).

• In January 2026, California welcomed 496,265 total non-resident international air arrivals through its all ports of entry — a decrease of 9.1% compared to January 2025.
• Arrivals from Visit California’s 13 priority markets totaled 373,073 reflecting a 9.1% year-over-year decrease.
• Canada was California’s top international source market in January, with 79,928 arrivals, down 14.3% year over year. China followed with 65,526 arrivals, experiencing a 20.2% year-over-year decline. Mexico recorded 45,826 arrivals and posted the strongest year-over-year growth among the top markets.
• Arrivals declined in 8 of 13 priority markets, with the steepest drops from China  (-20.2%),  South Korea (-18.1%), Australia (-14.4%), Canada (-14.3%), France (-12.5%) and France (-9.8%).
• The markets with notable year-over-year growth in arrivals for the month included Mexico (+18.8%), Italy (4.5%) and Japan (2.6%).
